EDA is a software tool designed to help researchers develop robust experimental designs for animal research (Percie du Sert N. et al. 2017). Available free of charge on the NC3Rs website, EDA allows users to build and visualize their experimental design as a diagram, with each step subject to evaluation and guidance.
Hello,
This training is intended for in vivo project designers.
It will take place in Paris on 24th November 2026 from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
The objective of this one-day session—comprising a theoretical morning session and an afternoon workshop—is to:
- Update participants’ skills in the field of project design
- Understand the importance of concepts such as standardization, randomization, “blinding,” gender bias, and inclusion criteria
- Review key statistical concepts (power, confounding factors, blocking factors, etc.),
- Understand the value of an experimental design
- Discover and learn how to use the EDA* software
*EDA (Experimental Design Assistant) is a tool available for free online on the NC3R website (https://www.nc3rs.org.uk/our-portfolio/experimental-design-assistant-eda) to assist researchers in designing their experimental plans.
This course will result in the issue of a certificate of attendance, which may be included in the skills booklet as part of continuing professional development.
